About Pocket Jesus
Our mission, our foundation in Catholic tradition, and where Pocket Jesus fits in your spiritual life.
Our mission
Pocket Jesus exists to make thoughtful spiritual companionship as accessible as the phone in your pocket. Not as a substitute for prayer, the sacraments, or the people in your parish — but as a quiet, always-available place to bring honest questions, half-formed prayers, and the things you’re still figuring out.
We built it because so many of us carry questions about faith that never quite make it into a homily or a conversation: the 3am doubts, the gentle curiosities, the moments when you just want to talk something through. Pocket Jesus is meant to be a friend who’s always listening.
Grounded in Catholic teaching
Pocket Jesus is informed by Catholic teaching, deeply rooted in Vatican tradition. Its responses draw on tens of thousands of questions and answers about Catholic doctrine, grounded in 2,000 years of the Church’s lived faith.
It is not a substitute for a priest, a spiritual director, or your own conscience formed by Scripture, Tradition, and the Magisterium. It is a tool — a thoughtful one we hope — that can help you reflect, learn, and sit with the big questions in your own time.
What Pocket Jesus is not
Pocket Jesus is an AI-powered app. It is not officially endorsed by the Catholic Church, the Holy See, the Vatican, or any diocese, parish, or religious order. It is not a sacrament, not a replacement for confession or pastoral care, and not a substitute for professional mental-health or medical advice.
For matters of conscience, please talk to a priest. For matters of mental or physical health, please talk to a qualified professional. For everything in between — we’re here when you need us.
Who’s behind this
Pocket Jesus is built by a small team of technologists who wanted to build a spiritual companion that takes both faith and craft seriously. Have feedback, questions, or concerns? We’d love to hear from you at support@pocketjesus.org.
